In the Telangana State Bar Council Elections 2026, many votes are rejected not because of intention, but due to small technical mistakes. Understanding these errors is critical to ensure your vote is counted.
Mistakes That Make Your Vote INVALID
- Writing digits (1, 2, 3) instead of words (ONE, TWO, THREE)
- Giving less than FIVE preferences
- Using a personal pen instead of the pen provided
- Giving ONE to more than one candidate
- Writing the same preference (e.g., TWO) to two candidates
- Signing or writing any mark that reveals voter identity
Partially Counted vs Invalid Votes (Important)
If you break the preference chain, the vote is counted only up to the last correct preference.
- Example: ONE, TWO, THREE, FIVE
→ Vote is counted up to THREE, then stops - Example: ONE, TWO, FOUR, FIVE
→ Vote is counted up to TWO, then stops
⚠️ If less than five valid sequential preferences exist, the entire vote is invalid.
Mistakes That Stop Vote Transfer
- Skipping numbers
- Jumping from FOUR to SIX
- Repeating a number
- Incorrect spelling that makes the preference unclear
Key Reminder for Voters
Each vote has value under the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system.
One small mistake can completely remove your vote from the count.
